The word Demography refers to the statistical study of populations, especially human beings.
The word comes from Ancient Greek "demos" which means "the people" and "grapho" which means "writting, description or measurement"
Demography focuses on the study of the size of the populations, its structure, its distribution, its evolution and changes over time. Demography studies the past of population but also tries to predict the future of world population.
